Science in Resistance: book launch
When: November 14th, from 17:00 to 19:00.
Where: Ungdommens Demokratihus, Slagtehusgade 10a, Copenhagen.
In the face of climate breakdown and rising authoritarianism, as many are being silenced simply for speaking truth to power, how can we build collective counter-power? How do we create and strengthen movements to face the ongoing and coming storms?
In this event, Fernando Racimo will present his book ‘Science in Resistance’, which provides a first person account of the Scientist Rebellion, a global movement of scientists and scholars rising in collective resistance for climate and social justice. Afterwards, we will host a panel discussion with the following representatives: Nødbremsen (Line Kvartborg Vestergaard), DM Palestine Network (Susan Zekiros) and Collective Against Environmental Racism.
Hosted by The Copenhagen Decolonization Collective & Scientist Rebellion Denmark.

Who are we
As scientists, we have been ringing the alarm bell for decades, publishing countless papers and reports, and talking politely to the media and Danish politicians about the escalating climate and ecological crisis. People have asked the Danish government for urgent and necessary climate action.
Yet, despite their promises, the Danish government is far from being on track to meet their own climate goals, as the latest report from the climate council shows.
Our past efforts have failed, so we are changing tactics.
We are scientists and academics of all backgrounds who believe we should use our privilege to press for urgent climate action through civil disobedience.
